A little about me…

First of all, I’d like to say a huge thank you for taking the time to visit my website.

My name’s Ryan and I originally hail from the North of England with half of my family being from the UK and half from Italy.

My wife and I moved to beautiful New Zealand 8 years ago, and now reside in Queenstown with our 5-year-old daughter and 1-year-old baby boy.

My journey into photography began at a young age and stemmed from a deep love for the natural world. My father and I would spend hours watching nature documentaries as my passion for the beauty of this world began to grow.

That love and appreciation continued to develop as I travelled Europe with my family and was often put in charge of the family photos on our never-ending supply of disposable cameras.

I started college at the age of 18, where I had the option to study photography. I jumped at the chance and continued to evolve my techniques and skills, shooting film and using the college darkroom to develop my photos.

My interest in photography continued to blossom and at the age of 25 I decided to leave home and head off to travel the world, in the hope of seeing some of distant lands I’d dreamt of as a child.

I worked various jobs as I travelled and occasionally made some money through my photography.

3 years later, after meeting my now fiancé we decided it was time for a change of pace. We had always wanted to visit New Zealand so decided to give it a go. We booked one way flights, found our first apartment together and for the first time in a long time, we had somewhere to call home.

This is when my photography shifted from a hobby into my career. I finally had a home to work from, a list of regular clients and could focus my efforts into growing my business.

A mutual friend who was a fan of landscape photography, one day, very kindly asked if I would be interested in photographing his wedding. In all honesty it was a terrifying prospect. My comfort zone in photography had always been with landscapes.

I decided that I would give it a go and push myself to try something new. I was instantly hooked! The skills I had developed over the years, I found were transferable and I took to wedding photography very quickly.

A wedding is an incredibly special occasion, you are surrounded by love, happiness, fun, and a group of people sharing their well wishes with a couple that have decided to give themselves to each other forever. I cried at that first wedding, out of pure happiness, I knew at that moment that this is what I wanted to do .

I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to provide a service whereby I can solidify those happy memories forever, for people who love each other truly and deeply.

Wedding photography is now my career and one that I hope to continue to grow for a very long time.

I have won numerous awards for my photography, which I am incredibly proud of. In 2022 I was named the best landscape wedding photographer in New Zealand by Lux Life magazine.

I pride myself on offering a very laid-back, fun and stress-free style, with a focus on capturing the real moments for you to cherish forever.

As a keen hiker, climber and adventure enthusiast, I also offer my services to those interested in adventure style, outdoor weddings, engagements and elopements.
